Writing Portfolio

The School of Art and Design values and supports written communication abilities and critical thinking skills developed through iterative writing experiences across the curriculum and within the discipline. All BA-Art History or Technical Art History and BFA majors must either take a Writing Requirement course (like ARHS 240) or fulfill the Writing Portfolio. The portfolio consists of a minimum of 20 pages total from writing assignments earning a B- or higher completed in any ART or ARHS class (see PDF checklist for details). Must be completed by the semester prior to taking senior project. You can add papers to your portfolio at any time. To submit, have your professor sign the top of the graded assignment or email their approval and send both to mleight@mix.wvu.edu.

Writing Self-Reflection Description

(To be written the semester before you graduate.) You should look over the writing assignments you've done in your time as an art major in ART and ARHS classes and comment on what you learned and how your writing has improved. This is a chance to consider the role of writing alongside your studio work as you complete your academic experience and move on to graduate studies or your professional life.
