Donald Kent Kerr

Donald “Kent” Kerr received his MFA from Radford University and his BFA from Youngstown State University, focusing on design thinking and graphic design, respectively. He specializes in branding and identity systems, community-driven design, and commercial production and his research focuses on community identity and development and exploring the role design thinking plays in community engagement.


Kent began his design career as a graphic designer, prepress specialist, and production manager, developing branding solutions and designing visual curricula and supporting content. He and his business partner maintain a research and design studio focusing on community-driven design research, and creative placemaking solutions, examples of which can be found in communities, businesses, and organizations throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia.
